Do you possess a knack for driving procurement excellence and optimizing supply chains? We have an exciting opportunity for you to join our team as an IT Hardware & Telecom Category Manager.
As the Global Category Manager IT Hardware & Telecom, you will be responsible for developing and executing strategic procurement initiatives, managing vendor relationships, and optimizing our procurement processes. Your role will involve identifying cost-saving opportunities, staying updated with industry trends, and collaborating with cross-functional team to ensure the best-in-class IT hardware and telecom solutions are sourced and delivered to meet DNV business needs. In this role you will report to the Real Estate & Procurement Director.
Key Responsibilities:
- Accountable for category performance and value delivery across processes and levers
- Lead cross-functional category team
- Analyze external category insights and internal category spend data
- Lead the development, documentation, and execution of category (value) strategies including supplier, sourcing, contracting, pricing and purchasing strategies
- Lead the development, documentation, execution and follow-up of annual category plans
- Develop, measure and report on category specific KPI’s as well as the performance and value delivered within the category
- Manage key suppliers within the category
- Support and guide Regional Managers within the category
- Support and steer sourcing, contract, and supplier experts within the category
- Responsible for establishing standardized processes and procedures for global device distribution to end users
Qualifications:
- University level degree within IT, engineering, economics or similar
- Approximately 10 years of experience from (international) procurement function and category management within IT Hardware & Telecom experience will be an advantage
- Have domain knowledge related to the IT Hardware & Telecom category and a general understanding of the IT Hardware & Telecom market (dynamics, characteristics, practices, intelligence, and supplier and contract structures)
- An end-to-end understanding of spend management / category management
- Strong project management skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Attention to detail and deadlines while maintaining focus on the larger picture
- Performance driven, have a strong interest in commercial aspects, engaged, curious, and possess a high level of professionalism as well as personal integrity
- Possess business understanding and customer mindset and can interact with various stakeholders
- Effective in utilizing Microsoft suite of programs and understanding of purchase to pay software (e.g. Basware Cloud, SAP, Oracle)
- Strong written and verbal English communication skills
