Commercial Business Development Manager

Skretting Group has a vacancy as Commercial Business Development Manager. The position will report to Commercial Director for Skretting Group and will collaborate closely with internal stakeholders like Global Operations and Marketing & Sales.

Closed system farming is a growth area, both on full grow-out farming of salmon on land in recirculating aquaculture systems (RAS) and other species. The expected scenario is that within 2028, land-based farming of salmon will be 5-7 % of global salmon production. As this is a new customer segment and the biological and technological challenges are high, Skretting has a unique potential of developing our knowledge together with customers, building on our strong position in RAS on freshwater production. Skretting’s ambition is to be the number one supplier in closed system farming. To ensure this position, we need a Commercial Business Development Manager on closed system farming to develop and maintain a strong position for Skretting in the market.

Tasks & responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  • Maintain the number one position for Skretting in RAS segment
  • Take ownership of the relationship with relevant stakeholders within, and outside of, Skretting and Nutreco
  • Develop Commercial market strategy and business models
  • Develop and maintain sales forecast
  • Proactively work to improve customer satisfaction and performance
  • Proactively work to secure long term contracts and increase contract value
  • Establish and build strong customer relationships over time
  • Organise applicable targeted customer activities
  • Monitor competitive activity in segment and ensure that appropriate response strategies are formulated and communicated
  • Facilitate the customers to deliver technical training demands, and when required, utilise the skills and experience of other team members to assist
  • Attend meetings and deliver presentations as and when required


  • At least 5 years of Sales and Account Management experience in a business-to-business environment, or other relevant commercial/business development experience
  • Educated to degree level in a related discipline
  • Experience with contract and contract negotiations
  • Experience of developing and nurturing positive relationships and influencing people at a senior level
  • Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written
  • Willingness to travel internationally when required
